About the shop
Noelle and Patrick Kolb buy, sell, and trade vinyl in the former Assumption Catholic Church in Rivesville, West Virginia.
They started selling records by mail around 2010 in Richmond, Virginia. In 2013 they moved to West Virginia. The shop on Clayton Street opened in 2014.
The building is the former Assumption Catholic Church. Records sit on old church pews. There is a listening station with headphones. The room is homey. Families and kids are welcome. There is a shop cat, and drinks are a dollar. They do not sell record players.
Besides used and new vinyl, the shop sells Assumption and band t-shirts and Pristine Platters, the record cleaner Noelle formulated.
Every April they host Record Store Day in the store. Assumption Records is featured in Bob Tinnell’s movie Feast of the Seven Fishes.
The aim of this site is simple: get people into the shop, sell mail-order vinyl from the on-site catalog (also on Discogs and MusicStack), and sell Pristine Platters.
